These fiber-rich foods are well known to prevent heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity and such foods improve your digestive system.
Protein:
Cereals, nuts, dairy products, fish, and meat are very rich in protein. But if you consume beyond a limit, then it falls under the fat food category. Protein rich foods are a great source of energy to your body and mind. It is this protein that gets converted into energy which in turn keeps you active throughout the day.
Fish is very important since it has Omega 3 fatty acids in it. Vegetarians can go for Cauliflower and walnuts. Dry fruits should be a part of your balanced diet but limited amount only. Sample meals:
Breakfast: 2 Rhotis with dhal or 3 Idlies with a ?dish. [Avoid adding oil /ghee to rhotis]
Forenoon: Fruit salads or a fruit a day will do well. [Fruit juices do not have fiber in them. They serve no good purpose]. You can also have a Handful of nuts.
Lunch: A cup of rice and lots of veggies. You can also have salads but avoid oil toppings; salt and pepper is enough. Boil the veggies or greens without straining the water and saut? in few drops of oil.
Dinner: You can again go for idly or rhoti. Wheat rava [samba rava] can also be the best choice. End the day with a glass of milk.
