Summer is here and its time to have some fun with your friends outside, do fun activities, enjoy the weather. But there are some aspects of the hot weather like hot temperatures and higher humidity that can affect your skin and hair which may lead to major changes in your beauty routine. This ruthless Summer weather leads to sweat, sunburns, itchy scalp, sun tan, prickly heat, sun rashes, underarm odour, discoloured lips, dandruff, oily scalp etc. So we’ll be sharing the summer hacks we rely on to solve all the above-mentioned problems and to keep your skin calm, cool and tan free.
Hack 1: Bye Bye Dull face
Squeeze some Aloe Vera gel in an Ice Cube tray and refrigerate for a few hours. Pop one cube and massage well onto your skin. Chilled aloe Vera cube instantly reduces dullness and calms your skin.
Hack 2: Soothe your Sun rash
Pour raw milk in Ice cube trays and refrigerate. Pop one milk ice cube and massage well till it melts completely. Milk has a lightening property which helps to soothe sun rash and reduce redness.
Hack 3: Soothe your sun burns
Never rub or scratch the area where you’ve got a?sunburn, instead place an?ice pack to soothe it. If you don?t have an ice pack then you can make your own.
Simply mix some salt in lukewarm water, pour this mixture into a zip lock bag and refrigerate overnight. This can be used an ice pack on the affected areas.
Hack 4: Relax your Tired Eyes
Overexposure to the sun can cause dark circles and irritation in your eyes.
Refrigerate a slice of cucumber and place it on your eyes. Cucumber will give instant relaxation to your tired eyes.
Hack 5: Get rid of lip discoloration
Due to heavy exposure to the sun, our lips tend to get dark. So cure those dark lips with this simple DIY.
What you need:
Beetroot ? 1 piece
Rose petals ? 3 to 4 petals
Honey ? 1 tsp
Vitamin E capsule ? 1 capsule
Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline) ? 1 tsp
Method :
Crush rose petals and a piece of beetroot, add 1 tsp of honey, the oil from a vitamin e capsule & some petroleum jelly. Mix this thoroughly and apply this every night to restore your pink lips.
Hack 6: Face Mist to cool down and refresh your skin.
After a long day in the sun, our skin tends to get irritated and lose its texture and radiance. Use rose water to instantly brighten up your face and calm down your skin.
What you need:
Aloe Vera gel – 1tbsp
Rose water ? ? cup
Spray bottle
Method :
In a spray bottle add aloe vera gel and rose water shake well. Spray whenever your skin feels irritated throughout the day.
Hack 7: Get rid of neck tan lines
What you need:
Olive oil ? 1 tsp
Lemon juice – 1tsp
Mix these two ingredients and apply on your neck massage well and leave it overnight.

Hack 8: Get rid of underarms sweat and odour
During summers we tend to sweat a lot in our underarms and the odour will be unpleasant. To tackle that use a good underarm deodorant or else make this simple DIY.
What you need:
Baking Soda ? 1 tsp
Warm water ? as required
Rose essential oil ? 2 to 3 drops
We recommend Old Tree’s Rose Essential Oil.
Mix all three ingredients. The consistency should look like a paste. Apply this under your arms and massage well and wash off with cool water. After that apply a good deodorant of your choice.
Hack 9: Say bye to prickly heat
Prickly heat is one of the most annoying problems during summers. How can u get rid of this? Simply use prickly heat powder or else do this DIY.
What you need:
Mint leaves
Rose water

Method :
Grind these two in a mixture and strain the juice. Pour this juice in your bathing tub and take a bath.

Hack 10: Homemade Cooling Cotton Pads
Wet cotton pads come handy during summers for instant refreshing. You can make this Simple DIY wet cotton pads in your home.
What you need:
Aloe vera gel – 1tbsp
Chilled water
Vitamin E capsule ? 1 capsule
Method:
In a bowl of chilled water, add aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil. Soak some cotton pads in it. Soak for 1 min and store the cotton pads in a container. Use this whenever you feel tired during those sunny days.
Hack 11: Remove Sun tan
Sun tan is a major issue faced by the whole population during summers. Sun tan leads to discoloration of skin such as pigmentation that can last for a long period of time. Use this DIY beauty treatment to get rid of those stubborn sun tan.
What you need:
Licorice powder – 1tsp
Gram flour – 1tsp
Baking soda ? 1 tsp
Curd – 1tbsp, Turmeric – 1tsp
Cucumber juice ? to make a paste
Method:
Combine all these ingredients and make a paste. Apply this on your cleansed face and leave for 20 mins. Use this regularly for best results.
Hack 12: Get those silky smooth legs / Flaunt those Sexy legs during summer
What you need:
Sugar ? 1 ? cup
Olive oil ? ? cup
Lemon juice ? 3 tablespoon

Method:
Shave your legs first. And then combine all the above-mentioned ingredients and rub on your legs, rinse it off and then shave again. Repeat this procedure. Trust me, It may sound weird to repeat the whole process but I was shocked to see how much dead cells came out. Rinse off and apply a good lotion.
Hack 13: Use Appropriate Sunscreen
You should always apply sunscreen with at least an SPF 30 every day on your face and body. Keep a bottle in the bathroom next to your sink and make it a part of your daily morning routine. Staying hydrated is very important for every single organ of your body ? including skin. Drink plenty of water every single day and even more when you are outside in the sun. Skin which is not hydrated shows more lines and wrinkles.
Hack 16: Exfoliate Regularly
Did you know that our skin cells die every single day and are replaced by new cells??Make sure you exfoliate regularly to get rid of those dull, dead cells.
Hack 17: Detox water
Detoxification is very important for our body. Make some detox water using lemon slices, cucumber slices and some mint leaves in water.
What you need:
Water – 2 liter
1pc lemon
1 medium cucumber
10- 12 Mint leaves
Mix all & store it overnight in the fridge. Drink it every day. This is a great general detox for clear skin.
Hack 18: Add Vitamin C in your diet like orange, pineapple, mango etc.
Hack 19: During Summer, makeup melts. So to avoid this use minimal makeup. Use BB or CC cream instead of a foundation. Always use waterproof eyeliner, kajal or mascara. Use cream blush and highlighter instead of powder products. Set your makeup with a Makeup fixing spray to avoid meltdowns.

Hack 22: Wear comfortable clothes
Avoid wearing black, tight or skinny clothes. Wear pastel colours like baby pink, mint green and light blue colours. Prefer wearing Palazzo, long skirts and pants which are free and flowery.
Hack 23: Use a Mild shampoo & a Mild Conditioner
During summers your hair gets oily and you should wash your hair every second day. We can?t use heavy chemical shampoo & conditioner everyday so use mild shampoo & conditioner.
Hack 24: Dry Shampoo ?your Saviour during summer?
Get rid of greasy hair by using a dry shampoo during night. If you don?t have dry shampoo use baby powder, cocoa powder and rose essential oil as a dry shampoo. Use a makeup brush to apply this mixture during night to your roots and scalp then gently comb your hair to remove excess powder. In morning your hair will be oil free and voluminous.
Hack 25: In summers our scalp gets dry and cause dandruff. Get rid of dandruff, crush neem leaves, add some yogurt and mix well. Apply this on your scalp and wash thoroughly after 1 hour.
Hack 26: During my childhood days in school I used to see girls apply loads of oil on their hair. Don?t ever do this as applying oil and stepping out in the sun will not protect your hair but it will harm your hair. The oil will attract the dirt and it will get accumulated in your hair. So avoid this. Instead, apply hair oil an hour before washing your hair.
Hack 27: Keep your hair away from your face during summer. Always put your hair up in a high pony, loose French braid or a chic double knot bun.
Hack 28:?Roll some deodorant back on your neck to avoid sweating during blow dry your hair.
Hack 29: Apply some Vaseline under your perfume. During summers we need to smell good. But all our perfumes don?t stay for long. This hack will help u a lot.
Hack 30: Frizzy hair is the main problem during summers. Do try coconut hair spray to manage that frizzy hair.
What you need:
Coconut oil – 2tbsp
Water ? as required
Lavender essential oil ? 2 to 3 drops
Spray bottle
Combine coconut oil and lavender essential oil in water. Pour this mixture into a spray bottle and give a nice shake. Spritz some on your hair ends whenever needed. This will make your hair more manageable. This will make sure your hair looks shiny and hydrated.
Hack 31:? If you are lazy like me,?If you cannot wash your hair regularly, part some of your front section hair basically bangs flip it over and wash your hair in the wash basin.
Hack 32: Sneaker lovers sorry. But you have to?accept the bitter truth. Don?t wear sneakers or shoes during summers. Instead, wear comfortable flip flops.
Hack 33: Spray some lavender or rose essential oil on your hair brush. This makes sure your hair smells good all the time.
